Come on Barbie, let's go safari

Shirt : Charity shop
Trousers : Topshop
Trainers : Vans
Necklace : Primark
Watch : Timex

I think I might save up and buy a digital camera. The difference in lighting for each of my outfit posts makes me want to go and sit in a corner and stare at the wall for a while.

Let me be the first to say, pink is not my colour. I don't ever remember being dressed in pink as a kid and I certainly steered away from the sickly shade during my teenage years. So I even managed to surprise myself when I picked this shirt up in a charity shop and took it home to wear on the regular. I could make all the excuses in the world for that decision, but in all honesty - it just goes with literally everything.

These trews I picked up during a frantic pre-interview spree. I've been after something with a D ring fastening for while (lol at using trouser terminology). Whilst I adore them and they're so beautifully comfy, they are the stark opposite to my horribly pink shirt, as they go with literally nothing else I own.

I'm off to Dublin tomorrow! I'm super, super excited to see everything the Republic of Ireland's capital city has to offer. Even if it is supposed to rain, all weekend... If anyone has been, or even lives there and has any tips, I'd be much obliged!

My jewellery collection

This post is slightly different to normal, and focuses on something a little different. I came across the live auction site Invaluable a couple of weeks ago and loved the whole concept. So I thought I'd have a go at showing off a few special bits and bobs that I've collected from around the world over the years.

None of my jewellery is particularly expensive, I'm not a diamonds and pearls type of gal. I'm more for unique pieces that remind me of a particular time or place in my life. I like to buy something everywhere I go, so that I can look down at a particular piece of jewellery and be instantly transported back!

Croatian Silver Filigree Bracelet

I found this piece in a tiny jewellers in the tiny village of Ston in Croatia. I love the delicate detail and how the silver wraps itself around my wrist in such a manner. It reminds me of the most beautiful country in the world, and one of the most relaxing weeks spent travelling to different parts of Croatia with my family.

Morrocan Silver & Red Stone Earrings

I bought these earrings in the middle of Moroccan nowhere from a women with just a cardboard stand full of jewellery. I spent a week travelling from Marrakesh to Casablanca to Fes, and exploring some of the more beautiful corners of the country.

I recently travelled to Egypt and had one of those horrific moments when I lost one of the pair. A few weeks later my friend sent me a photo of it that she'd dug out of the bottom of her suitcase. We were reunited and they've been a staple in my ears again ever since!

Cypriot Evil Eye Bracelet

This is one of my favourite pieces of jewellery, purely because it's so pretty. Also because it was bought for me, by my boyfriend (who knows me so well!) when he spent 10 days in Cyprus without me. I love the Turkish eye embedded within the pearly white stones and how dainty it looks against my skin. The evil eye is not in fact, evil, and is a symbol of good luck. I like to wear this piece especially when I feel like I need a little extra!

Cypriot Glass Pendant Necklace

Another Cyprus goodie... I recently came home from Cyprus, and this colourful glass charm is a little reminder of an amazing trip. It's completely unique and handmade by a little old man who has a tiny shop next to Bellapais Abbey. I'm planning to find it a thin, silver chain to sit on, to make it more of a versatile piece and to really let the colours speak for themselves!

So there you have it! Four very different pieces that are all special to me in a different way. I do have a lot more jewellery, but it would take me an awfully long time to document every piece!

One of the things that means the most to me when choosing my jewellery, is knowing that each piece is an individual, and I'm not likely to see the same thing on anyone else's wrist, neck or ears! Invaluable provide a similar service, with an entire website dedicated to arts, antiques and collectibles. There's even an entire section dedicated to Chinese snuff bottles, of which I'd love every single one. With thousands of pieces of jewellery to browse through, it is probably the perfect place to send your significant other (or your mum) in search of something special - for your birthday or just because!

Admittedly, (as you all know of my love for snakes) I have spent a good few hours gazing at this bad boy, but there is so much variety it's easy to lost within the auction pages!

This one time, in Cyprus...

Top : GAP
Skirt : Primark
Birkenstocks : Office

I admit it, I'm a terrible blogger. I had all the best intentions of going on holiday and taking a tonne of outfit photos. But once we got there and it was all 40 degree sun and that, I quite honestly couldn't be bothered! Which makes this 'holiday outfit' series rather short, I'm afraid...

Once I get all my films developed, I may have another post or two filled with our adventures. But for now, these super low quality photos are as good as my Cyprus outfit images get!

We spent almost 12 days in Kyrenia - the northern coast of Cyprus. In my opinion, the northern side of the island is the most beautiful, the people are so friendly and it's far less populated by tourists. We spent most days either chilling at one of the many tranquil pools and beaches of the hotels along the coast or exploring old ruins of castles. We then spent the evenings eating ourselves into halloumi comas and drinking brandy sour's at the harbour. I'm so, so sad to be home and back in the dreary north west!

I Graduated

Whaaaaat. I never thought I'd see this day with the amount of times I threatened to drop out. But, I did it!

I managed to bag myself a 2:1 degree in fashion communication and promotion. It's been a very intense four years filled with pro-plus fuelled all-nighters, being skint for months on end, a lot of Netflix, a lot of takeaways, a lot of wine, a six month stint of dressing like a goth, seven day working weeks, hungover lectures, trips to Leeds, Manchester, Liverpool and the beach, weekends in Amsterdam, London and Paris, impromptu parties, four different houses, a pet cat, a pet snake and the best friends I could have made. And now it's time to join the real world - I'm not sure I'm ready!

Finally some full outfit photos!

Tee - All Saints
Skirt - Motel
Shoes - Birkenstock
Sunglasses - Monki
Necklace - made it myself!

Yes, yes it's been a while. Living away from home and not having a backdrop/full time photographer made blogging tricky. It became all about the white wall and the angled selfie. Fear not. I've moved back home and my sister has been roped back in to take photos and laugh at me. Yay.

Every time I read someone else's blog, I realise that linking the clothes you are wearing to where they're from is a thing. A thing that I never do. Because my clothes are varied levels of vintage - I bought both of these pieces last year and so there's no chance of finding them again - unless your eBay skills are on top form. So I guess I'm doing the blogging thing 'wrong' in terms of promoting current fashions and trends. But then again, I like to think that I don't have to follow fashions and trends in order to dress myself...

Example: I like this skirt a lot. Just because it's from a year ago, I don't see myself stopping wearing it anytime soon. Just because something is 'out of season', it doesn't mean you have to throw it away! I honestly think the fashion industry has become too way too obsessive about the longevity of trends. I don't even know whether flares or skinnies are more popular right now, I can't keep up! Nothing seems to be a staple anymore and it's sad that something you love for a couple of months is so easily thrown away in place of a new trend.

I realise that this post is a bit of a ramble, but it's about 30 degrees outside and I think I'm going a little delirious from the heat. So I'm just going to sit and listen to Kendrick Lamar and pretend I have no responsibilities today. Which I kind of don't... No job, no more university... I need to sort my life out, but today is not the day!
