Pink is taking over my life. It started innocently enough. A nude nail varnish. Blush pink trainers. I now own more pink than I ever have in my life so far. I never thought salmon pink would grace my wardrobe, but boy, I couldn't have been more wrong. I've never actually bought from COS before, only ooh-ed and ahh-ed over their website. I thought it was probably time to take the plunge!
As I work at H&M, I get the glorious, glorious privilege of staff discount - at not only H&M, but COS and many other of my absolute fave brands, which makes sales that little bit more enjoyable. So I may, or may not have purchased half of this wishlist already. 

Farfetch | Style the shoot

 

Farfetch recently got in touch to ask whether I fancied styling a pair of their new season sunglasses into a wishlist. Obviously I said yes, because sunglasses are one of my true loves in life and also because I'm off to New York in a couple of weeks, and a new pair of frames are high on my duty-free list.

Farfetch have a wonderfully helpful style hub that provides you with some great tips on how to choose your perfect pair, which you can find here. Having an oval-ish shaped face, I sometimes find it difficult to pick a pair of sunglasses that actually suit me. Therefore aviator and cat-eye shapes are an absolute no-go as they look absolutely absurd on my face. Farfetch's style hub agreed with me completely on this and recommended that thick, squarish frames would suit me best. While I agreed with this - I wear this style of seeing-glasses 24/7 - I also tend to opt for round frames; as sometimes very square glasses give me a very square face - whereas round glasses soften my jawline. There really is so much to choose from on Farfetch and you can check out their collection of new season sunglasses to find the perfect pair for you.

This particular pair by Linda Farrow stood out to me on my first scroll through Farfetch's (massive) selection of frames. Firstly because most, if not all, of my sunglasses are either black or tortoiseshell and I'm drawn to anything a little bit different. Secondly because they are literally everything I was imagining my next pair of sunglasses to look like! They're just so effortlessly cool, without looking too vintage. The double frame of gold and grey isn't overbearing or heavy, and the slimline arms aren't branded at all. Thirdly, because of their subtle colour, they would actually just go with everything. Perfect. 

When putting together the rest of my look, of course my first point of call was Pinterest. I've been slightly obsessing over powder pink for the last couple of weeks - it's a phase - and this particular wishlist is completely inspired by that factor. Oh that, and it's comfort level!

My Etsy finds

From time to time I spend a good three hours browsing through all that Etsy has to offer and falling in love with hand made, unique ceramics, wall hangings and pretty much everything else. With every intention of moving out by March at the absolute latest, I'm beyond excited to find somewhere to live and get my interior design on. 

I work for H&M Home and my life and brain has been turned into homeware and soft furnishing mush in the last few months; so much so, I'd now rather buy myself a cushion than a pair of shoes.

Whenever I look at interiors, I'm always heartbreakingly torn. Between wanting to go completely OTT Moroccan - with textures and prints and ceramics and a lot of blues and oranges. Mainly because when I went to Morocco, age 18, I fell in love with the country. I came home and decorated my bedroom with bright orange walls. Seriously. The other option is white and minimal with dark oak furniture and fringed wall hangings a la Californian desert. I can already see wherever we end up being turned into an eclectic mess of trends and colours due to my indecisiveness.

So, there you have it. My bank account is currently preparing to take a hammering in the very near future. If funds would allow it, I would only buy from independent sellers because there's so much variety, and also because for me, it's so, so important to support small businesses and creatives!

**Yeah, I do realise the prices are in dollars - but I can't for the life of me work out how to change my Etsy to show in GBP!

Boot season

It's finally boot season! My collection of black leather boots has steadily grown over the past couple of years, but there's always, always room for more. Rather than going for the standard Chelsea boot, or plain chunky heeled type; this year I'm after a pair with a little bit of something different. I've compiled this list of a few I've found that tick every box for me...

ASOS Edwina Ankle Boots

ASOS can do no wrong in my opinion. I think we can all agree that their shoe section is a delight all year round. On my nightly 'new in' browse I noticed this pair. The seventies heel is something I'm obsessed with right now - I literally can't get enough of flared everything - it's starting to become a problem...

LOTUS Curran Metallic Ankle Boots

I've wanted a pair of metallic silver boots for the longest time, but I've never actually found a pair I love. These have the perfect combination of pointed toe and silver heel that I need in my life! The heel is just the right height for everyday wearability too. I also love their slight western shape, that isn't overly 'cowboy boot'.

I always end up trawling round Clarks with my desert boot obsessed boyfriend, and can quite honestly say I have never seen a pair of shoes that I actually wanted for myself. Until now! Who'd have thunk it ey. That suede panel is everything and the high rise makes them slightly different to most of my other ankle boots. I find myself either going for higher rise boots or incredibly low ones, purely because they're not something you see everywhere! Perfecto.

COS Elastic Strap Boots

I've had my eye on these beauties for a while. They're the priciest of the lot, but totally worth the splurge in my opinion. I've seen a few similar styles with an elastic strap over the foot, but none quite appeal as much as these ones from COS! Definitely a Christmas List number.

£50 Festival Wear with Boohoo

Hola, hola and welcome to today's post.

Boohoo have challenged me to create a little festival wishlist for under £50 for those of you who might be feeling nostalgic for summer!

Before I get carried away, I want to tell you a little story about a magical place called Glastonbury. I've been to a fair few festivals in my time - 10 to be exact. From my first festival experience of Leeds' fest - a teenage angst filled field - to Benicassim - oh the sunburn - none have quite had the gripping vibrance and excitement of Glastonbury. The saying goes, that regardless of how many times you have been, you'll never be able to see all that it has to offer. Which, I can definitely vouch for! It's also said that the festival site just so happens to sit on some ye olde spiritual leylines which make Glastonbury magical - all I know is that there is just nowhere else on earth that makes me quite as happy. Tickets for next year come on sale on the 4th October, and the panic has already started!

One of the reason's that I love festivals so much is definitely the variety of people in attendance. There's nothing better than sitting down on the grass, pint in hand, and just people watching for a good half an hour. I'm forever making mental notes of other people's outfits so that I can try it out for myself when I next get chance. Festival fashion is so diverse and so colourful and so beautiful, it's hard not to be totally inspired by the people around you in the crowd.

My go-to style tends to be reminiscent of this exact look - a pinafore or a casual dress, layered with jewellery and accessories. It's just the perfect thing to throw on in the tent for an effortless festival look! The camel suede of the pinafore is a gentle nod to the seventies craze of this year, whilst the crochet top is just the perfect layering piece!

Maybe the best part is that the total cost of this outfit comes to the grand total of £42! Wahey! I haven't done one of these in a while. I think because I'm actually that skint, I've weaned myself off browsing ASOS on the hour, every hour. To be honest with you, I don't wear a lot of white, as I'm prone to spilling things on myself pretty much everytime I eat or drink something. Yet more and more, I find myself being drawn to white denim and white corduroy in particular. I'm literally staring at this Topshop skirt like the love-heart-eyed emoji. While the weather is still reasonably warm (for England), I'm very much tempted to indulge in each and every one of these pieces!

Wishlist : Seventies Style Bags

This is a bit different to my usual wishlist type posts, but after buying the most perfect Urban Outfitters black leather rucksack in the January sales, I am now a complete bag convert. Until this moment I'd never really seen the point when I had pockets on a jacket, but oh how I was wrong... A bag can transform an entire look just by being a certain colour, fabric or style.

Seeing as I'm partial to the whole seventies revival thing - and totally accepting of anything suede and tassled into my wardrobe - I've been obsessing over a few bags in particular... 

Jones Blip Backpack
Continuing my obsession with backpacks... Because obviously you need one in every colour, for every possible occasion! These brown leather beauty is literally the best staple rucksack I've seen. 

Zara Fringed Bag
Oh just because everything in Zara is literally perfect right now. This is the most amazing bag I've ever seen and I'll never not love wicker bags. 

Jones Saxby Cross-body Bag
I didn't even realise that Jones sold anything other than boots, but after spending far too long deciding which of their bags to feature on this weeks wishlist, I'm sold. They have a beautiful collection of suede, fringed and tassled bags that are really hard to pick from! This one in particular is making me want to book a summer holiday so I can take it to the beach with me!

Bit of fringing never hurt nobody. I have a brown leather bag similar to this, and you can never go wrong with the black suede version!

Jones Stallard Handbag
This reminds me of a bag my mum used to have when I was about 14 and I always, always wanted to borrow it (regardless of the fact the only thing I could keep in a bag aged 14 was my Motorola Rzr and some lip gloss). However now I am at an age where it's totally acceptable to carry round hundreds of totally (un)necessary items, this bag would be ideal! I love the brown croc look leather panels and the tassel detail and I think it would look amazing paired with my flares!

After a week bursting full of bad news, I pretty much never want to spend money on clothes ever again. The thought of buying something just to style once and then stick in the back of my wardrobe for the rest of eternity no longer appeals. Why would I want to waste money so trivially? So I guess my lifetime ambition of dressing simply and sticking to items I already own is subconsciously starting to take shape - if only I could stop making online wishlists! And only if I could stop wearing so much black...

I fear I might have a problem. My morning routine has gotten to a point that before I even check my texts, facebook or Instagram, I'm on ASOS' New In section seeing if there's anything I've missed off my 'saved items' collection. 'If I was a rich girl' starts playing round and round in my head as I click the heart button on pretty much everything. But how can I not, when their own brand line is this good?

I know summer is a while off, but who cares if there's still snow falling from the sky when your wardrobe could be full of crochet and summer dresses?

To justify my choices, they are all black. No white linen, no colour and no bikinis... Yet.

There is nothing I hate more than a sale. I always subconsciously find myself adding item after item to in my online shopping basket before I give myself a bit of a talking to. Do I really want this? Would I pay full price for it? The answer is usually no. Why not save the money to put towards something I really want?

Don't get me wrong, there's no better feeling then finding out the item you've been drooling over for the last two months has 50% off, and there's always one store's sale I do check religiously. If you've not already guessed, that store is Zara. I even braved real-life shopping to see what was left in store!

So that being said, this week's top 5 is a mixture of seriously beautiful new collection and a few old favourites that I'm tempted to splurge on now they're on sale...

Hand Embroidered Velvet Dress : I don't even think this needs a description. Just look at it.

Velvet Blazer : For some reason everything I want right now is either velvet or leather. Not sure how that would look as a daily ensemble. This whole three piece of blazer, cami and trousers are everything I need right now.

Black Ribbed Sweater : Take a good look at that hemline and tell me you don't want to wear that everyday...

Leather Jacket : I can't even choose a favourite out of these five items. Wait, yes I can. This. It's the perfect leather.

Bronze Boots : Another sale item I've had my eye on for a while! Just waiting for the price to drop a little futher... They'd make a nice change from the seventeen pairs of black boots I already own.
