Long time, no blog

I feel like I've been away from blogging for so long! I do have my reasons though. For starters, nobody will take photos for me. Simply because there's either no time, no camera or I'm having a bad hair/outfit/life day. Secondly, I've just managed to get myself a job and I've been in Reading for a long week of training and inductions. Now that I'm finally getting a wage again, it will hopefully inspire me start shopping and get blogging! 

This is kind of a nothingness post, but I just wanted to get something up and get back into the swing of things... 

I'm thinking about asking for a SLR bridge camera for christmas but I literally have no idea what's what or what's best for outfit shots. Any tech-y camera tips would be hugely appreciated!

Yeah I'm totally aware that I'm wearing a waistcoat. But with good reason! 

Walking past Zara in the Trafford Centre the other night, I couldn't help but notice the increeeeedible new season window displays. The item that had taken center space was nothing other that the most beautiful black velvet embroidered waist coat. It was love at first sight. Yet, I knew we could never be together. The reason? The £69.99 price tag. 

So instead, I went home and cried for my long lost waistcoat. And then - as if by magic - my mum decided to have a clear out. And what should be on top of the pile, other than this woolen beauty! 

Admittedly, it's not as delicately bohemian-chic as the Zara one, but it's totallllly 70s and I think I'm going to try and find a way to work it into everything that I wear for the next month or so...

I imposed a no-spending ban on myself to try and save a bit of money while I'm still at uni. Then I went charity shopping and told myself that it didn't count because it's cheap. And then I totally relapsed and bought a pair of ASOS boots and the most beautiful leather jacket from Zara. Oops. Well, I tried.

This tee is from a charity shop and cost me all of £3. I love that its short sleeved yet still has a turtleneck, because turtlenecks should be worn all of the time IMO. Also, I'm literally obsessed with flares, they literally go with everything and give a totally different dimension to any outfit you'd usually pair with skinnies...

What I Wore : Brussels Day 2

I've been searching for the perfect camel coloured roll neck jumper for so long before finding this one from Gap at the back of my mum's wardrobe. Apparently it itches. I think not. Therefore it's now mine and I absolutely adore it. I always end up pairing it with my flares - which are my favourite jeans in the entire world. Add some hoop earrings and you have total unintentional seventies vibez. 

We traveled up to Bruges on our second morning to explore their Christmas markets. It's honestly one of the most beautiful places I've been. The multicoloured buildings and little cobbled streets were covered in Christmas decs and there was even a real-life nativity parade featuring a brass band, a few sheep, horses and a donkey!

November

Having spent the last five weeks not sleeping and instead binging on Orange is the New Black, drinking insane amounts of coffee and running on pretty much just cold & flu tablets, my first project of final year - an entire magazine - has been completed and handed in. Deep breaths. 

Now I only have to write a case study of 10,000 words, I feel faaar more relaxed. 

I went home for the weekend, mainly to see my dog, but also to get fed and have a bath. Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love living with my mates and having my own independence to look after myself and get drunk every other night of the week, but after four years** of living away from home I still somehow haven't mastered the art of doing a weekly shop. Or cooking for that matter. 

**Four years?! I can't even grasp how quickly that's gone... I literally have six months left. Fuck.

Also, big up to my boyfriend for being my photographer and filter chooser for the first time!

Monki Style

This is the most amazingly slouchy, wonderfully comfy jumpsuit I've ever owned. Not that I've owned that many. But with wide, cropped legs it's totally resonating with this season's culotte trend. The tied waist and batwing sleeves make it such an transitional piece - I paired it with trainers for a casual daytime outfit, but a pair of chunky black boots completely transform it.

I'm really obsessed with fine jewellery at the moment and Monki's sister site H&M has the best range for about £1.99 a piece! I love these two paired together as they're so delicate and the different lengths make them look as a set. Perfect for day-to-day jewellery!

Coachella?

This dress couldn't be less me. For one, it's a dress, and I'm not a dress person, and two, it's white, not black. Yet I'm completely in love with it and I want to wear it every day for the rest of the year. 

I did originally want the black version, but after the firm decision to stop being such a massive goth wannabe and with total Glastonbury-brain (it's a thing) I got the white. It is a bit see through, but seeing as I haven't stopped wearing my American Apparel cycling shorts under absolutely everything this year, it's fine! 

I feel like Vanessa Hudgens a la Coachella, I just need a black fedora to pair with it - but that's another hill to climb!

Oh and yes I do got a bindi on my forehead, and no I'm not a bindi festival gal, but I'm going as Bjork for my boyfriend's fancy dress 21st and I just bought about 200 bindis, so I'm off to practice wearing one round Ikea...

I'm probably the world's most awkward photo subject, I just never know what to do with my arms. Or legs. Or face. I guess it's pretty mandatory to have outfit posts, so here goes nothing! 

It's Good Friday and I've spent the day freckling, eating ice lollies and taking the dog for a walk. I wish every weekend was a four day bank holiday, it's been so so chilled! 

Definitely a casual outfit today, premiering my new Topshop mom jeans with frayed ankles - I'm obsessed. I've always worn skinny jeans, and I mean always. This is my (ever) first venture into baggy, boyfriend-y, mom jeans and now there's no going back and I've got my eye on another three pairs.. Oops.
